YouTube Integration Blocks Guide


YouTube Embed Block

The StreamWeasels YouTube Embed block allows you to embed a single YouTube video directly into your WordPress content.

Adding the YouTube Embed Block

  1. Open the WordPress editor for the page or post where you want to add the YouTube embed.
  2. Click on the "Add Block" button (+) to open the block library.
  3. Search for "StreamWeasels YouTube Embed" or navigate to the "StreamWeasels" category.
  4. Click on the "StreamWeasels YouTube Embed" block to insert it into your content.

Configuring the YouTube Embed Block

Once you have added the Twitch Embed block to your content, you can customize its settings to display the desired YouTube video.

  1. Select the YouTube Embed block by clicking on it.
  2. In the block settings panel on the right-hand side, you will find various options to configure the YouTube embed.
  • ID: Enter the YouTube video ID you want to embed. This is the unique code found on the end of the URL of the video page on YouTube and looks something like this: QQKCuSG2eHQ
  • Video Type: Choose between Video and Short, this will ensure your video is displayed with the correct dimensions. Video sets the aspect ratio to 16 /9, while Shorts sets the aspect ratio to 9 /16.
  • Width: Set a custom width of the embedded player if you need it. Leave it empty to use the default width.
  • Height: Set a custom height of the embedded player if you need it. Leave it empty to use the default height.

YouTube Integration Block

The StreamWeasels YouTube Integration block allows you to embed multiple YouTube videos or streams in various layouts on your WordPress website.

Adding the YouTube Integration Block

  1. Open the WordPress editor for the page or post where you want to add the YouTube integration.
  2. Click on the "Add Block" button (+) to open the block library.
  3. Search for "StreamWeasels YouTube Integration" or navigate to the "StreamWeasels" category.
  4. Click on the "StreamWeasels YouTube Integration" block to insert it into your content.

Configuring the YouTube Integration Block

Once you have added the YouTube Integration block to your content, you can customize its settings to display the desired YouTube content.

  1. Select the YouTube Integration block by clicking on it.
  2. In the block settings panel on the right-hand side, you will find various options to configure the Twitch integration.
  • Layout: Choose the desired layout for the YouTube content. The available options depend on the StreamWeasels YouTube Integration plugin. By default, the layout is set to "wall".
  • Channel ID: Enter the YouTube channel ID to display all the video content. from that channel. Check out our YouTube channel to ID convertor to help you get the channel ID.
  • Playlist ID: Enter the YouTube playlist ID to display all video content from that playlist. Playlist IDs can be found on the end of the URL for the playlist page on YouTube and looks like this: PL8mG-RkN2uTzdgptyx--f-_AKYcN0fcsk
  • Livestream ID: Enter a single YouTube channel ID or myultiple channel IDs seperated by commas, to display the channels live status on YouTube. Check out our YouTube channel to ID convertor to help you get the channel ID.
  • Number of Streams: Specify the number of streams you would like to display at once.

These settings provide granular control over the behavior and appearance of the embedded YouTube content.
